Joining Hands with Bulgaria for In-Depth Cooperation, Embarking on a Glorious New Journey of Carbon Reduction and Environmental Protection

JNG | 3 July, 2025

From June 25th to June 28th, at the invitation of Bulgarian Minister of Energy Zhecho Stankov, JNG Chairman Xu Junsheng, Neil Bush, Professor Ran Wei, the general manager of JNG’s agricultural company, and the technical team visited Bulgaria for exchanges. This visit focused on the decarbonization needs of the Bulgarian coal power industry, aiming to build a cross-border cooperation bridge and demonstrate our company's global mission and responsibility in the carbon capture and utilization field.

During the visit, Chairman Xu had in-depth exchanges with Minister and senior officials of the Ministry of Energy.

The Minister introduced that currently 40% of Bulgaria's electricity is generated from coal, and the country is under long-term and significant pressure from carbon emissions. Chairman Xu stated that our company's globally leading integrated ammonia-based desulfurization and decarbonization with carbon-sulfur-based enhanced-efficiency fertilizer production technology (CCUF) can perfectly meet the local coal-fired power plants' carbon capture needs. He also elaborated on the technical advantages of our CCUF technology, including low investment cost, excellent emission indicators, and high carbon capture efficiency. Through this technology, the owners of coal-fired power plants can not only significantly reduce carbon tax expenditures but also achieve zero-cost operation of decarbonization. Moreover, the co-produced carbon-sulfur-based compound fertilizer is low-cost, rich in various nutrients needed for crop growth, which can significantly increase the crop yield in Bulgaria and also inject strong impetus into the local agricultural development.

The Minister highly commended and appreciated this "environmental protection + economy" win-win model, believing that our company's original CCUF technology provides an innovative solution for Bulgaria to balance energy security and low-carbon goals, and expressed his expectation to lead a delegation and visit our company's CCUF demonstration project in China in the near future.

After the meeting was concluded, the Minister personally contacted and arranged for JNG's technical team to visit the local major coal-fired power plants for on-site investigation and technical exchanges. During the visit, our technical team and the power plant owners had in-depth discussions on the technical features, the details of project implementation of our CCUF technology, as well as our cooperation model, enhancing mutual understanding and trust. The owners highly praised our innovation capabilities and technical advantages, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation.
