On the afternoon of November 7, the Nanjing Forum for Green and Low Carbon Development Strategy was held at Yangtze River Innovation Center for Ecological Civilization, where a number of academicians and experts discussed studying and implementing the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, building an innovation system of green technology, and supporting the high-quality development in Yangtze River Economic Belt. Zhang Jinghua, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, attended the forum and delivered a speech. Lv Jian, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, President of Nanjing University and Vice-chairman of the Council, presided over the forum. Zhang Quanxing, Wu Qiang and Ren Hongqiang, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Li Aimin, Chief Scientist and Deputy Director of Yangtze River Center, attended the speech.

A leading enterprise in scientific and technological innovation, JNG China was invited to participate in the forum, led by Jian Kaizhong, one among its management.


Before the forum, Zhang Jinghua, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the Council of Yangtze River Innovation Center for Ecological Civilization, accompanied the leaders, academicians and other experts to visit the exhibition hall of the Center, watched the demonstration of the “Ecological Eye”, an intelligent display platform, and visited the exhibition panels and models. JNG China's original ammonia desulfurization technology was listed as the only case of innovation from a leading enterprise and was placed in a salient position. During the visit, leaders and experts learned about JNG China’s R&D team led by scientists including Jason Xu, chairman of the group. They watched in detail the introduction of JNG China's exhibition board made by the government in the exhibition hall, the solid model of JNG China’s core technologies, and the sand table for application scenarios of JNG China’s ammonia desulfurization technology in Jinling Petrochemical. Technologies and achievements of JNG China were spoken highly of by all leaders and experts present.



Zhang Jinghua said in his speech at the forum that green and low-carbon development conforms to the trend of the times, and protecting Yangtze River, the mother river of the is the country's priority. In recent years, Nanjing has thoroughly implemented the instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping in a series of important speeches on protecting Yangtze River and the high-quality development of Yangtze River Economic Belt, highlighting the “four articles” on the protection of Yangtze River bank, the crucial task of pollution prevention and control, industrial transformation and upgrade, and the supply of green technologies, and has achieved many milestones in promoting green and low-carbon development. The construction of Yangtze River Innovation Center for Ecological Civilization is an innovative measure for Nanjing to combine its advantages of scientific and educational resources with actual needs of ecological civilization construction, and explore scientific and technological means to support the ecological protection of Yangtze River and the high-quality development of Yangtze River Economic Belt. The Center will take green and low-carbon as an important issue, extensively gather innovative elements and intellectual resources, provide more advanced ideas and original achievements, accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, explore and build an innovation system for green technologies, and strive to play the role of a technological policy source in the management of major rivers and the green and low-carbon development of Yangtze River.



On the morning of November 7, Yangtze River Innovation Center for Ecological Civilization held a cooperation signing and award ceremony and a symposium on construction and development. Zhang Jun, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Nanjing Municipal People's Congress, Secretary of the Party Committee of Yangtze River Innovation Center and Managing Director of the Council, Yang Guishan, President of the Nanjing Branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences, comrades in charge of relevant departments in Nanjing, as well as leaders of the community, leading enterprises and new R&D institutions participated in the event.



JNG China, a leading model enterprise for scientific and technological innovation, was invited to attend the forum and signed a contract of co-construction with the Center. Jinling Petrochemical, an enterprise applying JNG China’s original ammonia desulfurization technology, became the co-construction unit of the center's green technology demonstration base.

Yangtze River Innovation Center for Ecological Civilization is a high-level scientific and technological innovation platform jointly initiated and built by Nanjing Municipal Government and Nanjing University. Facing the major strategic needs of high-quality development and ecological civilization construction in Yangtze River Economic Belt, the center has built a core framework system of "three institutes, two platforms and four supports", built a commanding heights of green technological innovation, a main hub for the cultivation of ecological and environmental protection industries, and a high-quality development think tank to help solve key problems in the protection and green development of Yangtze River.

At the forum, Li Aimin, Chief Scientist and Deputy Director of Yangtze River Center, introduced that the Center had been committed to building a high-level scientific and technological innovation platform with deep integration, and would continue to tackle key problems such as heavy chemical factories along Yangtze River, ecological restoration of Yangtze River, and development of green industries. On the basis of integrating and absorbing new research and development institutions in the field of ecological and environmental protection and realizing coordinated development, this signing and co-construction is to join hands with leading enterprises in the field of ecological environment and some industrial parks nationwide to promote demand-oriented innovation and demonstration, promotion and application of achievements, and to create benchmarks and output models for green technology innovation.

Jian Kaizhong, one among JNG China’s management, led the team to attend the forum and signed the contract on behalf of the company. When leaders and experts visited the exhibition hall of Yangzi River Ecological Civilization Innovation Center, he introduced to them in detail the company's original ammonia desulfurization technology, which was epochal compared with technological routes of other multinational companies, in front of the company's exhibition boards and models.
